Attollo Foundation Takes to the Track to Inspire Local Pupils
News Release : 11.04.18
The Attollo Foundation helped make some sporting dreams come true, as it supported Grimsby pupils’ visit to the famous English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from across Grimsby made the trip as a part of the North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership’s Gifted and Talented programme and enjoyed a tour of the world class facilities and as well as the opportunity to participate in two coaching sessions; athletics and volleyball.
The Attollo Foundation was set up by leading offshore marine operator, Attollo Offshore. The company has a long-term commitment to the offshore energy industry, which goes well beyond its daily operations of offshore assets.
Ben Moore, Managing Director of Attollo Offshore explains: “Ensuring the positive future of the communities in which we operate is critically important to Attollo. Following discussions with the local community, the area of supporting high ambitions to improve development and school-age participation in sport was identified.
“The Attollo Foundation was created to generate a legacy to our offshore campaigns, and we are delighted to support a variety of initiatives, such as this visit to the English Institute of Sport. We’re confident that it will provide some real inspiration to the pupils who attend.”
North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership Assistant Manager, Craig Dobbs said: “Attollo Foundation’s support has enabled the partnership to enrich the Gifted and Talented programme by offering a fantastic opportunity to raise the young people’s aspirations.
“The visit to the English Institute of Sport has provided Grimsby pupils with an insight into performance at the highest level and a unique chance to take part in activities using the same facilities as elite athletes such as Jessica Ennis-Hill and Anthony Joshua.”
